Have you ever eaten cheese fondue? It is a classic Swiss national dish. You need a communal pot, called caquelon and a spirit lamp to keep the cheese smooth. With a fork you dip your bread or veggies into the cheese. For our family fondue with cheese is an ideal family dinner during winter season. It is easily prepared and you can enjoy a long  dinner with your family. That's what I really like.

Have a happy and peaceful Advent season. In Germany, Advent is the four-week period leading up to Christmas Eve. On each Sunday we light up a new candle on the advent wreath. During Advent we do lots of decorating and baking, but we also take time to reflect and feel the special spirit and atmosphere.

Happy Thanksgiving

This turkey survived Thanksgiving dinner.
I say "Happy Thanksgiving" to all my visitors from the States and tomorrow I wish you good luck for your Black Friday shopping!

Wer möchte darf schon mal naschen lol

This morning I baked the first cookies of this years advent season. At the moment, they are laying on the cooling rack and waiting for the chocolate decoration. You are allowed to snack lol

Today I could observe this beautiful sunrise, but it was icy cold.

St. Martinsfrucht

The persimmon fruit tastes like sweet apricot / pear and contains lots of vitamin C. It is said that the fruit could be hollowed out and afterwards, if it is highlighted with a tea candle, the fruit skin glows pretty orange. We decided to enjoy the persimmon with vanilla ice cream and liquid chocolate. In addition,  St. Martin's day will be celebrated tomorrow.

leckere Knusperschnecken

After Christa introduced us her yummy yeast pastries on her blog last week, I will show you the zesty alternative today. They are good for taking them on trips and for long TV nights.

Zuerst wird der Teig ausgerollt.
First, the dough is rolled out.

top it with well spiced ground meat and grated cheese

roll it up and cut it into slices

nochmal mit Käse bestreuen und dann backen
top it with cheese again and then bake it.

Guten Appetit!
Enjoy!
